Acupuncture Treatment

Acupuncture is a complete medical system that is used to diagnose and treat illness, prevent disease and improve well-being. It is effective for physical, psychological and emotional problems. Acupuncture originated in China more than 3,000 years ago and, due to its proven effectiveness, has been embraced throughout the world. For more detailed information, please refer to Acupuncture Page. The average treatment fee is between $85 to $100.

We utilizes fine, disposable needles to access the meridian pathways to help restore the normal balance and flow of energy so organs and bodily systems can work together in harmony. After the needles are placed, there is a 15~20 minutes therapeutic time of deep relaxation resulting in relief, restored balance and a renewed outlook. A mild and painless electric current may be used to enhance the stimulation. After removal of the needles, 5~10 minutes therapeutic procedures will be applied to enhance the treatment.

Acupuncture is used to treat a wide variety of disorders, and has been clinically proven by many distinguished researchers.

The following therapeutic procedures might be applied with your acupuncture treatment.

Myofacial Release

Myofascial release is a specialized hands-on theraputic technique to improve the function of the joints, relieve pain and increase mobility. It includes:

Resisted stretching to increase flexibility and balance opposing muscle groups

Deep tissue massage to release trigger points

   Traction to relieve compression

   Stretches to promote realignment

For injuries, adhesions, joint immobiltiy and postural stress, myofascial release techniques can bring amazing relief.

Acupressure Massage

Using an understanding of the meridian system, acupoints are pressed and manipulated to release tension and promote the flow of qi (vital energy). This is a relaxing and invigorating massage to re-energize and normalize the body-mind.

This can be combined with Swedish massage (long stroking technique), essential oils or myofascial release depending on what the patient needs.

Cupping is a practice in which a cup is applied to the skin and the pressure in the cup is reduced (by using change in heat or by suctioning out air), so that the skin and superficial muscle layer is drawn into and held in the cup.

Cupping is great for muscle tension and spasm in the large open areas of the back where it is easiest to place the cup. Another excellent use of cups is for lung problems, especially coughing, bronchitis and asthma. The suction powerfully helps break up phlegm and congestion.

Please refer to Cupping for more detailed information.
